  • Andy Suritis - Head Tennis Pro - All Ages, All Levels

    • Andy Suritis

Andy traded in the sunny state of Florida for our fair Wisconsin. As a graduate from DePaul University, he and his wife Tammy missed the warm and genuine personalities of the Midwest. Andy has a rich and varied tennis history; he was originally coached by Hall of Fame players George M. Lott and Gardnar Mulloy and went on to work with Hall of Fame coaches Bobby Riggs, Fred Perry, and Frank Parker. Andy coached the Latvian Davis Cup team and has traveled with top ATP and WTA tour players that are playing professionally today. The stories he can tell….Other highlights in Andy’s tennis portfolio include coaching the US Junior Davis Cup team in 1979 and 1980 and coaching the Guadeloupe French Antilles national team from 1980-1982. Currently, he is assisting with the Latvian FedCup Team. Not one to sit around much, Andy directed 140 corporate tennis tournaments per year at the Boca Hotel and Club from 1982-1984. Previously, he was a tennis professional at the very prestigious Johns Island Club in Vero Beach, FL for 11 years. He has been a Director of Tennis and Head Pro at hotels and country clubs throughout the United States. Name a player or coach — Andy has probably worked with them!

  • Pat Klingelhoets - Youth High Performance, Adult Intermediate

    • Pat Klingelhoets

Using the word “experienced” to describe Pat is an understatement. He has been coaching tennis for 44 years, including 23 years as Head Coach of the University of Wisconsin’s men’s tennis team. Pat has taught with his competitive, yet caring spirit since 1980. Pat has coached many Wisconsin high school state champions; 12 to be exact! His latest protégé was the runner-up at the Girls’ D1 High School State Championship in 2016. But Pat’s following of loyal adult drill groups is also a hallmark of his ability to attract and maintain players’ interest. Pat’s boisterous yells of “No-o-o-o…” and “Ye-e-e-s…. Got it!” can be heard from 3 courts away. Besides his unparalleled teaching pedigree, Pat boasts a five-time, #1 ranking as a player in the state of Wisconsin. Challenge him to a match – he will take you down quickly without breaking a sweat. Pat Trivia: Pat caught a world-record-setting salmon on the 8# test line in Lake Michigan. He enjoys listening to live music and is the #1 fan of local folk/blues band Wheelhouse. He may become their roadie in his next life!

  • Rick Horn - Youth Beginners-High Performance

    • Rick Horn

The east coast is well-represented by Rick Horn. Having spent the greater part of his life in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Connecticut, he can probably teach us a few things about the finer points of tennis life “back east”. Rick qualified for the national championships while in junior college in 1987 and 1988 and went on to play for Trenton State College in 1989. He then coached in Pennsylvania and Connecticut for 19 years at the Pennsbury Racquet Club, Buck Country Racquet Club, and the Guilford Racquet and Swim Club. Rick has been heavily involved in USTA Team Tennis with juniors and adults and sent multiple teams to regional and national tournaments. Maybe it’s time we put together a team and task Rick with putting us on the national tennis stage! Rick’s primary goals when you are on his court include:1) working up a good sweat, 2) learning something new, and3) having fun. Off the court, Rick is most relaxed in the kitchen. He loves to cook!
